Peter Beswerchij

Peter Beswerchij began studying Tai Chi Chuan in 2008. The late Sifu Stephen Britt and Sifu

Michael Ashmore first introduced Peter to this ancient art form.

Born and raised in Germany, as a teenager, Peter was fascinated with mar&al arts and Asian

cultures. At the age of eighteen he spent several months living in Okinawa with local families

learning their way of life and training for his Sho Dan Black Belt. After meeting with and training

with his then idol, Chuck Norris, Peter decided to move to United States. He has practiced and

taught Okinawan Karate ever since.

Peter’s curiosity with Asian culture was ignited again in 2008 when attending an introductory

session for Tai Chi Chuan. Watching Sifu Britt and Sifu Ashmore perform the 108 hand form was

all that was needed to draw Peter into the soft style martial art of Tai Chi Chuan. In 2010 he

was
invited to become a Disciple of Sifu Ashmore, who is a Disciple of Grand Master Eddie Wu

Kwong Yu.

Tai Chi Chuan has become an integral part of Peter’s life. Besides teaching in Detroit, Troy, and

Warren, Michigan, he gives presentatons on the overall health benefits to local High Schools as

well as various cultural organizations.

On a regular basis Peter attends seminars taught by Grand Master Eddie Wu Kwong Yu to

deepen his knowledge of Wu style Tai Chi Chuan.
